Embracing Technology and Exploring New Creative Paths! Professor Liu Dejian, Chairman of NetDragon, Lectures for CAFA Students

Recently, Professor Liu Dejian, Guest Professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), Co-Dean of the Smart Learning Institute at Beijing Normal University, and Chairman of NetDragon, delivered a lecture titled "Embracing Technology and Exploring New Paths for Immersive Creation" to second-year graduate students at the CAFA School of Design. The lecture focused on the latest advancements in AI technology and its integration with artistic creation.

During the lecture, Professor Liu Dejian used real-world corporate case studies to analyze how the latest AI technologies, combined with expert knowledge in vertical fields, can reshape creative processes and establish AI production lines. He also emphasized the importance of building unique IP (Intellectual Property) in future creative endeavors. This insightful presentation revealed the infinite possibilities and broad prospects of future creation through the fusion of technology and art.

To spark students' curiosity and gauge their understanding of AI technology, a pre-class survey was conducted to collect feedback and questions regarding the use of AI in artistic creation. This allowed for a more personalized and targeted learning experience.

At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Zhang, Vice Dean of the CAFA School of Design, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Professor Liu Dejian for his visit. She introduced Professor Liu's academic achievements and his unwavering passion for education to the faculty and students present. Professor Zhang highlighted that Professor Liu's insights, drawn from NetDragon's latest research, offer a glimpse into the cutting edge of technology, providing new perspectives and momentum for CAFA's academic exploration and innovative practices.

Sharing New Technologies: Unlocking Infinite Creative Possibilities

Professor Liu Dejian adopted a unique teaching format, alternating between AI and human instructors, to explore new technologies and ideas in AI and artistic creation with CAFA students and faculty.

AI Production Line: AIGC + Expert Model, Reshaping the Creative Process

Professor Liu also emphasized how NetDragon has established AI production lines with the help of AI technology to streamline resource production. Using the example of producing 10,000 music videos (MVs), Professor Liu introduced the concept and value of AI production lines. He explained that in an AI production line, knowledge is taught to AI, which then converts it into productivity. Additionally, the production line breaks down complex tasks into smaller, manageable steps, each of which can be handled by AI. For instance, in the process of creating MVs, tasks such as song annotation, storyboard division, storyboard annotation, self-inspection, and scene transitions can all be completed by AI. This demonstrates the immense potential of AI production lines in artistic creation.

Professor Liu further explained that in this fragmented process, each step requires a "coach" to guide the AI on how to handle specific tasks, forming an "AIGC + Expert" model. This is a crucial strategy for achieving production efficiency. By leveraging the strengths of AIGC and expert systems, AI production becomes more controllable. AI production lines are undoubtedly bringing significant changes to organizations, from organizational structures and management methods to individual work content and methods.

IP Moat: Building Long-Term Value

Amid the surging wave of AIGC, Professor Liu emphasized the core role of IP (Intellectual Property) in future creative endeavors. IP is not only a gem in artistic creation but also an emotional bridge connecting the past and the future. Just like Jay Chou's music, which is not merely a melody but a symbol of countless people's youthful memories, having a unique IP has become a key factor for creators to stand out in the era of information overload. By continuously accumulating and enhancing the value of IP, creators can build a solid moat, effectively withstanding market competition and ensuring their creative works stand out in a fiercely competitive market.

In the final discussion session, Professor Liu engaged with CAFA faculty and students on topics such as AI production lines, the role of AI in artistic creation, the integration of AI and human creativity, the benefits of AI for enterprises, and the limitations of AI. The faculty expressed strong interest and recognition of AI production lines, with many indicating their intention to incorporate them into their artistic practices.

In his closing remarks, Professor Liu stated that AI technology is currently transforming the way content is created and distributed, and societal structures and culture may undergo significant changes due to advancements in AI. Everyone needs to continuously learn and adapt to AI capabilities to enhance their competitiveness.

Additionally, customizing AI production lines for artists can explore how to further dissect artistic expertise, allowing AI to assist or even lead the creative process. Such experiments are also crucial for NetDragon, as they help us truly understand how to effectively integrate expert knowledge in vertical fields in the era of large-model AI. In the future, NetDragon will further refine AI production line processes, driving society toward a more intelligent and personalized direction.
