Dr. Liu Dejian, Chairman of NetDragon, Awarded “Fujian Outstanding Entrepreneur”

On July 9, the Fujian Federation of Enterprises and Entrepreneurs held a symposium themed “Vigorously Promoting Entrepreneurship and Stimulating New Vitality for Comprehensive Deepening Reform” in Fuzhou. The 20th “Fujian Outstanding Entrepreneurs Commendation Conference” was also held concurrently. Dr. Liu Dejian, Chairman of NetDragon and Co-Dean of Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University, was honored as a “Fujian Outstanding Entrepreneur”.

Ten years ago in May, 30 Fujian enterprises, including NetDragon and their representatives, sent a letter to General Secretary Xi Jinping, titled "Take Responsibility and Action" proposing suggestions for accelerating the reform and development of enterprises. In July of the same year, they received a reply from General Secretary Xi. General Secretary Xi encouraged entrepreneurs to continue embodying the spirit of "daring to be the first and fighting to win", further liberating their minds and promoting reform and innovation, which greatly inspired NetDragon. This year marks the 10th anniversary of General Secretary Xi's reply to Fujian entrepreneurs and the 40th anniversary of empowerment. NetDragon continues to uphold the pioneering and innovative spirit of Fujian entrepreneurs, achieving excellent results in promoting corporate transformation and upgrading, innovation, and enhancing quality and efficiency.

As a senior Internet company with a 25-year history, NetDragon, under the leadership of Dr. Liu Dejian, has become a pioneering and innovative force in industries such as digital education and online games, moving with a steady pace and forward-looking vision.

NetDragon has always insisted on independent innovation, continuously adopting new technologies, creating new models, developing new products, and expanding into new markets. Not only did it found 17173.com, the first game portal in China, but it also became one of the first national online game companies to expand abroad and operate successfully. The “91 Wireless” platform also achieved the largest merger and acquisition in the Internet sector at the time. In 2010, NetDragon officially entered the digital education field, gradually forming an educational product ecosystem that includes hardware, software, and content. NetDragon has also responded positively to the “Belt and Road” initiative, collaborating with over 20 countries, including Russia, Egypt, and Serbia, to jointly build educational initiatives along the Belt and Road. Its educational results have reached more than 190 countries and regions, benefiting over 150 million users and more than 2 million classrooms. Furthermore, NetDragon's Promethean Interactive Panel has maintained a leading position in the global K-12 interactive panel market (excluding China) for many years.

In terms of "going overseas for education", NetDragon, as a pioneer and explorer, has actively participated in numerous national education digitization reform projects. The company is committed to providing educational solutions that are highly adaptable and replicable, tailored to the different developmental characteristics and levels of informatization in various countries. For example, it has customized and developed innovative "Mobile Intelligent Classroom Overall Solution" products for Egypt. In recent years, NetDragon has also leveraged "vocational education going overseas" as a new starting point, collaborating with Fuzhou Software Technology Vocational College and NetDragon Putian Education to create a unique "Comprehensive Solution for Vocational Education Overseas". Currently, it has established cooperative relationships with several overseas universities, including those in Thailand, Singapore, and Switzerland.

The first AI teaching assistant was launched in 2018, innovatively envisioning a scenario of “one teacher, one thousand teaching assistants”. NetDragon's products, such as 101 Education PPT, Edmodo Academy, Future Lab, and NCET Virtual Experiment, also utilize advanced technologies like AI and VR to empower the development of global digital education.
